Chris Farfan, PT — Chronic Pain Specialist & Integrated Medicine Physical Therapist — brings a unique blend of body, mind, and autonomic nervous system regulating techniques to address today's epidemic of chronically over-activated nervous systems.
With 30+ years of experience and a former role as Director of the Stanford University Pain Center, Chris has spent decades treating the Bay Area using advanced manual therapy: Craniosacral Therapy, Strain-Counterstrain, Joint Mobilization, and Myofascial Decompression Cupping.
Every session is built on the Discover Balance Method — guiding your nervous system out of the Red Zone and into the Healing Zone — and delivered one-on-one, for a full hour, with no handoffs to support staff.
The result: a customized blend of concierge-level therapies designed around your body, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
At Perfect Balance Physical Therapy & More, no two treatment plans look the same — because no two bodies, or the ways they've been hurt, are the same. Every program is crafted around your unique needs, not pulled from a generic template. That starts with really understanding what's going on in your body before deciding what comes next.
Our approach goes beyond simply treating symptoms. We specialize in guiding you through effective, evidence-informed recovery strategies designed not just to get you out of pain, but to build the kind of long-term health that keeps you there — strong, mobile, and resilient well after your last visit. Recovery isn't a single fix; it's a process, and we're here to walk that process with you, step by step.
That's what a truly comprehensive approach looks like: one that prioritizes your whole well-being, not just the injury on the intake form, and accelerates healing because your body, mind, and lifestyle are all being addressed together. When treatment considers the whole person, healing doesn't just happen faster — it holds.
At Perfect Balance Physical Therapy, healing quickly is only half the story — the other half is learning to maintain it. That's where Somatic Intelligence comes in: your innate ability to recognize the state your nervous system is in, and the power to shift it yourself.
When we support ourselves in mind, body, and soul, we activate the Vagus Nerve — a powerful pathway touching nearly every organ in the body. It calms us, easing our system out of overdrive and into a parasympathetic "rest & digest" state. It's only in that quiet, restful state — the kind meditation invites — that real growth, detoxifying, and healing can happen. None of that is possible while we're stuck spinning on overdrive, and that's just the beginning of what a quieter mind can do for your whole self.
Chris Farfan lives this work — embodying Somatic Intelligence through a committed yogic lifestyle that sustains their own dynamic sense of balance. Isn't it time you discovered your own perfect balance, vitality, and whole-health wellness?
